OVERVIEW
In this 2-day course, participants will immerse themselves in the art of creative storytelling, developing skills to craft compelling narratives, engaging characters, and emotionally resonant story worlds. Through an exploration of story structure, themes, and visual storytelling, participants will learn to shape ideas into coherent storylines and professional scripts that captivate audiences.
The course also introduces AI-powered tools to support the creative storytelling process. Through guided demonstrations, participants will explore how AI can be used for idea generation and fiction tracking, including shaping story beat sheets with generative AI, enhancing character development, and creating AI-generated images for mood boards to visualise tone, atmosphere, and story worlds. Blending creative theory with hands-on practice, participants will gain practical techniques to develop impactful stories using both traditional and AI-assisted approaches.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Generate ideas for a narrative film, create a theme for a story and build effective story plots
Develop engaging and believable characters and write a script in a professional format
Utilise various visual storytelling techniques to convey meaning, context, and emotion in a story
Apply AI-powered idea generation and fiction tracking to shape story beat sheets using generative AI capabilities
Use AI tools to support character development and narrative consistency
Create AI-generated images for mood boards to support visual tone, atmosphere, and story world development
