OVERVIEW
This course covers the planning of the production budget for film production. The skills include preparing the production budget, the production schedule, and the main methods of delivery, managing and monitoring ongoing production expenditure while balancing creative expectations and working knowledge of reporting procedures, and the various strategies for revising financial targets and performance.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Execute due diligence on the project by evaluating the script and script elements
Create a budget/financial plan outlining the project costs required to develop and deliver the project
Supervise the hiring of the cast and crew and create a production schedule based on delivery requirements
Monitor the production pace to ensure that the production remains on schedule
Monitor the financial status of the production to ensure that the production costs remain within budget
Manage post-production elements to ensure the completion of the production

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Age: 18
Academic Requirement: Obtain Pass Grade in GCE O-Level subjects including at least B4 for English (or IELTS overall band score 6.5 and above or equivalent) and 2 other subjects or equivalent
For applicants who do not meet the minimum requirements may still apply and will be considered based on:
At least 1 year working experience in any industry; and/or
Oral interview or evaluation test by Singapore Media Academy to determine suitability for the course
Applicants may be called for interview at the discretion of Singapore Media Academy.
