OVERVIEW
This course covers the process of pre-production planning, including the intended outcome of the script, agreeing on the design concept, storyboarding the concepts, auditioning and selecting performers/contributors, and selecting key creative and technical members of the production crew. It also includes the process of breaking down production workflows, visualising the creative concept, and determining logistical needs.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Manage all aspects of pre-production planning to ensure that production can begin in accordance with the creative vision and direction
Visualising outcome of the script by adhering to the creative concept, artistic values and logistical needs
Finalise the design concept of how the film will be made through agreement with the key creative people
Identify and select performers that will participate in the creation and development of the production
Select and recruit contributors that will participate in the creation and development of the production

Note:
This course will conclude with a compulsory assessment. Participants have to achieve at least 75% attendance to be eligible for the assessment.
For online classes, participants are required to attend lessons via a personal computer (laptop, desktop, or tablet with a front-facing camera) to optimise the learning experience and for the purpose of taking attendance. Parts of the training will include activities that may require the use of mobile phones, such as capturing photos and videos while attending classes online.

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Age: 18
Academic Requirement: Obtain Pass Grade in GCE O-Level subjects including at least B4 for English (or IELTS overall band score 6.5 and above or equivalent) and 2 other subjects or equivalent
For applicants who do not meet the minimum requirements may still apply and will be considered based on:
At least 1 year working experience in any industry; and/or
Oral interview or evaluation test by Singapore Media Academy to determine suitability for the course
Applicants may be called for interview at the discretion of Singapore Media Academy.
